Stillbirth Support in Honour of Arlo Jack Rodda
After an umbilical cord accident tragically took him from us, our beautiful son, Arlo Jack Rodda, was born sleeping at 5:22 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28th, 2024. He was 37 weeks + 1 day. Arlo was imbued with sweetness. He was adorable and so precious - just absolutely perfect. Our lives have never been the same as we have been left with an ache that time isn't meant to heal, constantly asking ourselves how and why this happened. Keeping Arlo's name alive even after he's gone is very important to us, and one way we can do that is by making a donation in his name.
As Arlo’s anniversary + birthday approach, we want to honour him in a way that is both meaningful and impactful. His story matters, and we hold onto the hope that one day no other parents will have to endure the heartbreak + emptiness we have faced this past year.
When choosing a foundation to support, it was essential to us to find one dedicated to preventing pregnancy loss and advocating for scientific research into why stillbirth happens—and why the numbers are not declining
While many incredible organizations offer grief support + counselling after stillbirth, there are almost none in Canada that fund research for preventative purposes. Baby’s Breath Canada advocates for research while also providing bereavement support to families. Baby's Breath Canada is the direct recipient of all donations. (CRA: 118831544RR0001).
We are filled with gratitude for the love + support we’ve received from family and friends, especially as we navigate this month. We are so fortunate to have such a special support system who have shown up in so many different ways. Thank you for helping us honour our precious son, Arlo Jack, and for helping us to keep his name alive. We will close donations on his anniversary + birthday, February 28th.
With love from his parents,
