Stage 4 Colon Cancer fighter
Donation protected
As most of you know, I've been fighting stage 4 colon cancer for almost 6 years. I was diagnosed on Dec. 21st, 2017.
I made a couple of promises back then. I've made it past 5 years. And I've done a pretty good job turning a negative diagnosis into a lot of money for the American Cancer Society whom I started fundraising for shortly after I was diagnosed.
However, I lost focus on my financial needs. I had an emergency fund. But, I've since used it. I feel good and I'm focusing on my business a lot more now. Trying to raise money for ACS was a top priority for a few years. Now I need to put me first.
A lot of friends have offered to help when I needed it. Some have brought meals. Some have cut grass. Right now, I don't need that as I am able to do most of them. Slower than most. But, I can do them. Right now, I need to pay off some medical debt to the hospital. Also use the money to pay for my personal medical insurance. Last year my monthly insurance payment doubled. I was paying just over $250 per month. This year I'm paying $498 per month. My deductible also doubled.
So trying to pay that as well as my other bills has taken a financial toll. I'm not using this as a permanent solution. This is temporary. I have several things coming up business-wise. But nothing pending yet. This is a crutch to help out and pay off some debt before it goes to collections.
I thank you for any help you are willing and able to do. At this time I mostly need help financially. Any funds over the goal will be donated to ACS as I don't want to completely lose focus on that goal.
Thank you,
Jeremy
