New Lungs for Michelle

As many of you know, I have a rare medical condition that causes progressive scarring of the lungs. I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2018 and have been fairly stable. The statistics I researched gave a 3-5 year life expectancy for the condition so I'm thrilled to still be here over 6 years later! I am currently on the waitlist to receive a double lung transplant at the University of Minnesota Fairview Health in Minneapolis. I'm beyond grateful for the second chance this selfless gift will provide.

Our income has been limited due to my supplemental oxygen needs. We will have significant out-of-pocket living expenses due to having to relocate to Minneapolis for a minimum of four months after I get my life-saving call. We have so many blessings and are ready for this challenge. I started this GoFundMe to provide an opportunity to anyone who would like to help with our housing costs during my recovery. It goes without saying that the love and support we've been shown has been priceless.
