Sticky Fingers Short Film

Sticky Fingers is a fiction short film that follows Moll, a young woman who feels isolated and ignored in the big city and develops an unsavory habit to fulfill her desire to be seen. Over the course of the film, Moll's frustration with urban anonymity makes her increasingly anxious until she reaches a boiling point.
Despite the ~unprecedented~ circumstances we currently find ourselves, we think it’s important for us to make this film now. It reflects not just the isolation that we’ve all been feeling in quarantine, but it represents my aspirations as a writer and filmmaker. I am passionate about bringing the always complex and sometimes off-putting experiences of women, especially women of color, to the foreground. I want to give these contradictory, three dimensional, and unforgettable people the attention and complexity on screen you just can’t look away from. This attention extends to our attitude behind the camera too. This film will be written, directed, shot, and produced by women, including two women of color. It is extremely important for us to work with underrepresented people in film and media, and we see diversity as a priority for our team as we build our crew.
But, we can’t do this alone. Making a film is expensive, and even more so with additional COVID safety precautions we’ll be taking on set. As of right now, we’re planning on using money saved from our unemployment checks this summer to fund this project. With your support, we will be able to afford better suited locations, rent quality equipment, and buy film stock and pay for development. Most importantly, we hope to compensate our talented and hardworking crew for their work as much as possible during challenging times.
By donating, you’ll be supporting artists and recent graduates whose professional opportunities have been compromised by the ongoing pandemic. Any amount that you’re able to give helps, as does sharing with friends, family, and followers.
Thank you for your support!
