Sticking It To Sarcoma

Donation protected

Four months ago I started a GoFundMe for my brother Todd Kinlaw to help offset the medical expenses incurred from his treatment of Ewing Sarcoma. This past weekend those of you who contributed were refunded your donations due to an oversight on my part with GoFundMe and the required time frame to be active within the account. I appreciate those of you who reached out to me, my brother Riley and Todd's golfing buddy CJ. Since we started this page Todd's battle ended, but as many of you know who have lost a family member with cancer, there are still medical expenses to be paid and a household that had 2 incomes is no longer. Your support of Todd, Karen and Riley have been overwhelming and Todd was always so humbled with the love he received. We are going to reactivate the account and if you are still able to donate, please do so, if not we understand and appreciate your thoughts. (For those of you who are not familiar with Todd's story, please read below. )
Thank you for your support during this difficult time.

Our friend Todd Kinlaw has been diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare cancer of the bone and soft tissue that only makes up 1% of all adult cancer diagnoses annually. Todd’s diagnosis comes after the discovery of a tumor last year. A surgery successfully removed the tumor from Todd’s foot, but it came back even bigger only a few months later. Further tests and biopsies revealed another tumor in his pelvic bone and a spot on his spine to be the same cancer that is in his foot. Todd started chemotherapy treatments at the end of February and was doing great until dehydration, low blood pressure, and a low white blood cell count sent him to the ICU at Duke for five days. Todd is facing some fairly intense chemotherapy for the next several months that will keep him away from work for much needed rest and recovery time.

Todd has been dedicated to the students and staff of Sampson County Schools for the past 25 years, starting out at Midway Elementary's computer lab and then transitioning to SCS's Technology Department. Todd is always there for his family and friends, and now it’s our turn to give back! Please give to help Todd and his family pay his medical bills and travel back and forth to Duke Hospital for treatments. Let's help Todd focus on getting healthy and getting back on the golf courses he loves!

Please share this with your friends; every donation is welcomed and deeply appreciated.
