On January 31st, 2023 Killian Radford Murphy had a crazy delivery. A story for another time, but he was born breach, no epidural, and no meds. We have been told more than once that what Killian is facing isn't related to his delivery at all, so no one has to mull that over for long as you read this.

Killian has a rare genetic disorder called hemimegalencephaly. You can google it and gets lots of info on it if you'd like. It means lots of things, and almost every day (now 3) we spend in the hospital, more and more people come up to us and tell us more about Killian's version of it. I want to attempt to describe it straightforwardly - he has roughly one hemisphere of his brain that is over-growing and is poorly structurally organized such that it can't function properly and tends to cause seizures. There is more to it than this, but that is the basis of it.

I am running this for my big sister Maria, my brother-in-law Michael, and my newest nephew Killian. They need help. They need support. Killian has brothers and sisters that want to show him the world. These funds would be used for anything from inevitable medical bills to food support while they spend the next months in the hospital.

Here is a small word from Michael:

"Killian is great. He's just a little baby, but he's perfect. He is as squishy and soft and perfect as any baby ever was. I want to use this website to tell you more about him. We only had about a day with him off anti-seizure meds (because the baby seizures were/are visually very subtle) but I could see his little person. His seizures are quite constant but even then there were just normal baby moments mixed in. As some other posts coming soon will illustrate, we don't know how this is all going to end. But I know that the moments I have with Killian now are precious to me, and I want others to have a chance to get to know him and stick with him too."
