Stewart Evans Memorial fund for his daughters
Stewart J Evans 8/19/76 - 6/18/21
As a result of Stewart's death last week, his daughters Blake (17) and Brooklyn (14) no longer have a living birth parent, however they have many family and friends who fill these roles in their lives. I am Sherri, the sister of the girls' mom (Renee), Aunt Sherri to the girls. The girls (our nieces), have always been a part of our families life. We have had them with us for days, weekends, weeks, month(s), and sometimes even a year or more at a time. Together with their dad, they have shared all their holiday's and big events with our family. I am married and have 2 adult children who are both married and live nearby, and also 2 precious grand children. My husband and I have begun the legal process to fully claim them as ours, and they will forever be a part of our whole family.
The girls are settling into our home in Farmington, MN and together we are making it their home as well. We will provide the girls all resources necessary to walk with them through their grief and loss, and love them and care for them as our own children throughout the rest of our lives. For the past 8 years since my sister died, we release balloons, visit the cemetery, and keep her present in our daily lives by sharing stories about her, something she would laugh at, something she would wear, or whatever. Now, in addition to sharing memories of their Mom, we will also include stories and memories of Stewart to keep his memory and spirit alive, and with them always.
Many people have reached out wanting to do something for the girls - and we are so thankful for that. Your prayers and well wishes are the most valuable gift you can give to them or us. Some have asked for a place to donate funds for the girls… which is why this Go Fund Me page got established. My husband and I don't anticipate needing additional funds for the girls, but recognize sometimes people want to do this. Any funds received will be used for the girls, be it a car fund, wedding fund, making new memories fund, exploring new interests or adding to the already generous college education fund offered by Stewart's employer for each of the girls.
I have a unique opportunity as an air line employee to travel with the girls for free. If you have a favorite place that you think we should visit, please share it with us, and what made it special to you. Maybe we will visit your favorite place while we are making new memories.
