Stevin’s autopsy and burial

Hi, we are Arion and Brooke Outlaw. On 12/24/22 at 4:35pm we welcomed our sweet boy Stevin Pillar Outlaw at 25 weeks 6 days. He was in the womb with minimum fluid, so he was born with weak lungs and his heart was working hard. Therefore, he from being on the ventilator since birth, he suffered from bronchopulmonary displaysia and pulmonary hypertension. He was in the NICU all his life. He passed unexpectedly 6/5/23 at 5:36pm. We advocated so hard for Stevin. The doctors often weren’t fond of us doing so and would make decisions that would leave my son to suffer the repercussions. For awhile we had been advocating for them not to do and increase certain drugs on Stevin. They ignored what we said and our son deteriorated shortly after their changes made about a week or so ago. We watched our son go from being stable, to his liver failing, his intestines halting, feces coming up his tube, his heart and lungs dropping, blood exiting his bottom area, his blood pressure becoming dangerously unstable, his active level depreciating to slim to none, air pockets around his lungs, fluid around his liver, his oxygen having a harder time rising, etc. We fought hard for them to not make these changes with our son. The medical professionals were in no denial the changes they made, contributed to our son dying because none of these things were occurring before. We were very active parents so we understood what was going and how certain changes affected him. We begged them to take it slow. One of the doctors said “we make mistakes sometimes,” well that mistake cost my son his life. We are now at the point where we need financial help to receive a private autopsy, funeral/burial arrangements, and therapist to move forward. We will be seeking legal assistance but right now these are the things we need. Thank you for being willing to help us and our baby boy.
