Hello, my name is Stephanie.

I am a mother to 3 girls, one of whom named Stevie-Lynn, needs hip surgery. This surgery is set for May 26th, 2026 at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, ON.

Stevie-Lynn is 4 years old and is a beautiful, intelligent, energetic and happy little girl.

She was born with a leg discrepancy, meaning one leg is longer than the other. We had been hoping with some monitoring and physiotherapy that we could manage this without surgery but unfortunately that is not possible.

Stevie has DDH (Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip).

This is a big surgery that will require us to go back to Toronto several times.

We will be needing to arrive in Toronto a day prior to surgery, to be able to check in at 6 a.m the day of. Stevie should be in hosptial anywhere from 3 to 5 days after the surgery before we are able to return home.

It will be a long recovery process and she will be in whats called a 'Spicca Cast' (from mid chest all the way down to ankle & half way down left leg as well) for 6 weeks.

At the 6 week mark, we will be needing to travel back to Toronto for cast removal.

Then, at the 3 month mark post surgery, we will be needing to travel back once again for X-Rays/tests to make sure that her right hip, pelvis and left femur are healing properly.

With the cost of everything that these trips require, (lodging, gas, parking, food, equipment needed for her post surgery), I am hoping that starting this go fund me will help to alleviate some of these costs.

I am beyond grateful that the surgery itself is covered, and thankful for the emotional support of those around us.
