Stephen Paul Kight, born May 3, 1968 in Long Beach, CA. recently passed away on November 6, 2015 due to complications of a drug overdose.
Stevie grew up like many of the Long Beach Belmont Shore locals in fast times with surfing, hardcore punk rock music and easy access to drugs.
We would like to honor Stevie and his love for his family, friends and city by setting up this educational Memorial Fund that will help in assisting young locals of the Long Beach community free themselves from their drug dependency.
Mission Statement: For the benefit of education and support around addiction and substance abuse.
Most families do not understand the complexities of addiction and need the support of a professional to guide them through the treatement and recovery phase.
The funds will be directed to residents of Long Beach, CA with dependency issues who cannot afford a qualified interventionist/counselor such as Todd Zalkins.
Todd Zalkins is a fellow Long Beach Belmont Shore native, friend and recovering addict and was on a similiar destructive path as Stevie and survived.
Todd is now a respected educator and role model, speaking to teenagers about drug abuse and assisting families with interventions. His website provides additional useful information:

Hopefully, with your support, we can together educate our local community around drug dependency and help save great people with destructive diseases.
