Two of Mara's cousins - my nephew and niece - have been affected by cancer, so Mara and I decided to fundraise for Teenage Cancer Trust, which has been a great support to them and many other families where cancer has affected a young person.

So we are joining Sir Chris Hoy - and 5,000 others - to ride 60km in his Tour de 4 sportive in September. Sir Chris Hoy received a terminal diagnosis last year, as his cancer was at stage 4. Ever a beacon of positivity, he is working hard to raise awareness and create hope for those with similar diagnosis.

Riding 60km will be a big challenge for Mara, but she is training hard and will clock up at least 500km in training rides before the event in September. That's a lot of hours on the bike for her!
