Hi All,
Trish again, I just wanted to update this post.
As many of you know my grandsons Stevie and Colton have been diagnosed with Familial Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis type 5 (FHL-5) an extremely rare autoimmune condition in fact they are the only siblings formally diagnosed in Australia making Stevie the first bone marrow recipient for his condition at Westmead Children’s Hospital last year.
Now Colton is in hospital recovering from his bone marrow transplant his stay will also last a few months leaving the family under extreme pressure mentally, physically and financially.
The family have lost wages during this time then adding the cost of petrol and meals has added to their stress, not to mention they brought a car from Western City Autos at Car City that now sits I the driveway while Leanne disputes this while paying off a loan for a car they cannot drive and on top of that my son Steve has a back injury has been cut off Worker’s Compensation.
They are not entitled to support from charities such as Red Kite, Cancer Council, Camp Quality ect because the boys have an autoimmune condition however they go through the same process as cancer sufferers.
This time it has taken a further toll on the family as Colton is so young he doesn’t understand.
I have suffered a heart attack during this time with me having a quadruple bypass just a couple of weeks ago.
I am recovering but unable to help like originally planned again more stress on them.
They are tired, Steve is with Stevie as he has RSV while Leanne has been at hospital with Colton separating them even more.
Please donate and if you can’t sharing would be wonderful.
Thank you for your support so far.
