Steven Tefft is a 6 year veteran of the United States Navy Seabees. He served throughout the world including Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom from 2011-2012. Since returning home he has been diagnosed with PTSD, depression and anxiety from his time spent overseas. He has struggled with flashbacks, night terrors, anxiety in social situations and insomnia. His condition was made worse in March 2014 when he lost his son due to a premature birth. He has recently been told that he qualifies for a service dog, to be trained by him along with help from a trainer to help combat his symptoms. He's been told to pick a puppy of his choosing and the training will begin. We have found a well respected Boxer breeder in Ohio who is working with us to help pick out the best pup to meet his needs. A charity group that he belongs to, MMST (Mississippi Men Standing Tall) has stepped up to help Steven get his 'battle buddy' but we need all the help we can get. The cost of the dog is $1500 plus training to get the pup and Steven working as a team. We are trying to raise $2500 to cover the dog, travel expenses and training. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
