I'm running The Mustang Trail Race in Nepal in April 2026. The race is an 8 day multi stage race over 170 kilometres with 8500 metres of ascent and run between 2900 and 4300 metres.
I am using the opportunity to raise money for two organisations and ideally would like to split the money equally so if you don't mind as well as donating to P.I.E.S can you also follow this link and donate to EVERYBODY COUNTS
P.I.E.S.
piescharity.org Partners in Education Swaziland is a small north-west based registered charity providing “a meal a day” & basic education for vulnerable children in Swaziland (now Eswatini).
Within Eswatini, 10% of the population (of 1,200,000) are orphans & there are 20,000 child-headed families in the country; nationally 60% live below the poverty line, 46% of adults are HIV/Aids positive & life expectancy is a mere 45 years.
P.I.E.S. supports two drop-in centres for pre-school children, which create a safe & caring environment for approximately 220 children who attend each day. Basic medical needs are evaluated & provided in addition.
Through a series of carefully coordinated local initiatives, the centre communities are successfully working towards self-sufficiency via sewing projects (for children’s school uniforms, local businesses, etc.) vegetable-growing, bee-keeping, etc.
Funds raised through P.I.E.S. go directly to the benefit of the children: Trustees are 100% voluntary & every penny raised goes to help vulnerable children & their families, where £8.00 provides food for one child for a month. P.I.E.S. works to find places in local schools for our children by securing sponsorships: primary school education is free although children need support for shoes, uniforms, etc. but many children are unable to afford a secondary education at all.
