Steve's Cancer Journey: A Year of Struggle
Donation protected

It was about this time last year when my husband started feeling a small mysterious pain on the left side of his head. My husband, Steve Cloninger, known to me and some as Maui, was later diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma. It is now stage 4. It's been a long year of struggles, pain, medications, appointments, tests, hospital stays, x-rays, CAT scans, PET scans, and the placement of a feeding tube. He has had radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy. But now we know despite all this, the cancer has metastasized to his lungs, liver, neck, back, and bone.
Maui has always been such a hard worker and provider. He was devastated when he had to stop working in March 2024. It has been a struggle ever since. We have never been ones to live a big life, and we were certainly not prepared for this. We have drained our savings, and it is a battle just to make ends meet. The doctor's bills, hospital bills, prescription medication, and over-the-counter medications, medical supplies are more than we can handle, especially while navigating the physical and emotional side of it.
We are overwhelmed and have humbled ourselves to ask for help.
I believe in God first and foremost and ask for your prayers for Maui and our family.
If you feel led in any way, we appreciate and would be grateful for your help.
