As most of you know, Steve underwent a lung transplant in 2017 where he was blessed with a single lung donation. Post transplant life was relatively smooth in the years after with regular follow-up appointments in Boston, labs, scans and everything in between that comes along with such a life altering procedure. Unfortunately, in February of 2025, Steve began to experience some medical issues, particularly with his breathing that eventually led to him requiring full time supplemental oxygen again. In the months following, Steve underwent lots of testing, several hospitalizations and an injection of Campath to try and fight his body against rejection of his transplanted lung. In May of 2025, a CT scan revealed that he had a mass in his native lung. This mass of course led to more testing including a PET scan and biopsy which revealed that he had small cell carcinoma. Steve saw oncology at Dana Farber down in Boston and a treatment plan was developed that will include chemo infusions and radiation for an undetermined amount of time at this point. Deb works full time providing their sole income and transports him to all of his medical appointments, requiring her to miss work. Additionally, he is requiring lots of medications with high copays that they are responsible for paying out of pocket for. They have been through so much but continue to fight and stay positive even with the obstacles ahead. Let's rally around them and help to ease the financial burden so that they can just focus on kicking cancer's butt. Share, donate if able and lift them up in prayer.
