Steve's battle against Angiosarcoma

Steve’s Story:
From his daughter Heather Hayes
"In February 2017, Dad started having some irritation in his scalp. On February 6, he started having severe pain in scalp and was diagnosed with Shingles. He was treated for it, but the lesions continued to worsen and his face started to swell. He was hospitalized twice, and was seen by a dermatologist to do biopsies. We found out on 3/21/17 that the lesions are actually a rare type of cancer called Angiosarcoma. "
After the initial shock, many doctors, too many days spent in the hospital, surgery to remove a large growing tumor on his head, radiation, and chemo treatments Steve has been released from Greenville Hospital System. Now, everyday his wife, Ann, takes him countless trips to the hospital for radiation treatments, blood transfusions, platelets or anything else he may need daily.
Since Angiosarcoma is such a rare cancer, the family has had a very difficult time finding a doctor that is knowledgable and comfortable enough in the area to move forward with a treatment plan.
This GoFundMe page is set up for that very reason.
Dr Ravi, in his practice at MD Anderson, in Texas, believes he has what it takes to help Steve fight and overcome this battle. We are trying to raise money to fly the family to Texas for further treatment.
Steve has been extremely positive and uplifting so far, and knows that he will beat cancer! Steve is not only a selfless husband, father of two wonderful kids, and a grandfather to three, but is genuinely a selfless man. Steve will be the first to go out of his way to help out family, friends, or anyone for that matter in need. For those of you who know Steve personally, know that family is always number one but fishing is passion. Not only is he going to beat cancer he is going to get back on the lake winning tournaments, with his son, Stephen, and grandson, Jada.
Any support, donation, and prayers will be greatly appreciated not only by Steve but all affected through this journey.
