My husband Steven battled cancer for approximately 6 years. He was first diagnosed at age 17 in February 2010. It had started in his left femur. Since then he has gone through many treatments and surgeries. He had 10 inches of his left femur removed along with two muscles. The doctors replaced it with a cadaver bone as well as 3 steel plates and 15 screws. Afterwards he did many months of chemotherapy.
The cancer has reappeared multiple times. Twice doctors scoped tumors out of his left lung. The next surgery was to remove a tumor and part of a rib. When it once again resurfaced he had a little more than half of his left lung removed. Then next time it appeared he did multiple types of chemotherapy. At one point he developed a blood infection that nearly killed him. Thankfully he pulled through. More recently he has gone through more chemotherapy as well as radiation to stop the growth. In December 2015 they discovered more tumors in his right lung. Sadly nothing could stop the cancer from spreading.
Steven and I began dating in March 2013, in the middle of his battle and got married in May 2015. We just celebrated our first year anniversary and We were so happy to have had that privilege.
On May 29th, 2016 Steven lost his 6 year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family as he took his journey to heaven into God's arms.
As we go through this difficult time, we would just like to ask for any donations to help towards the funeral and cremation costs. Anything helps and we appreciate your kindness.
