Stevenson Chew ( Technician/Facility Specialist)
Stevenson Chew has been part of the Hawthorne Machinery Co. Caterpillar since Inception in Hawaii. He has worked for Caterpillar for 30+ years during which he has been a Technician in shop as well as in field operations. In his later years due to health concerns and a heavy heart he moved into a Facilities role and aided up and coming technicians from his wealth of knowledge. He started his career in the work force in High school where he attended Konawaena High and worked at the local Shell Gas station here in Kealakekua, later he pursued the Military for 6 years, moved back to the Island and attended the University of Hawaii and majored in Diesel/Welding and Machining. He then got picked up from Kau Agro business where he started in the diesel field. He eventually made the move to Caterpillar where he became a asset for over 30 years.
In Stevens spare time he often fished and threw net along the shores of Kona and eventually Hilo side where he settled down and started his family. Family was an intricate part to Stevenson’s passion for work and in everything he had done in his life. We have lost a friend but even more a great Person.
