Steven Kim Memorial Fund - For Hailey & Hugo

Donation protected
In November of 2020, on the eve of Thanksgiving, Steven Kim suffered a massive stroke. He was 45 at the time. Steven was rushed by ambulance to Harborview, where he received interventional surgery that saved his life.  Although Steven survived, the stroke impacted large portions of his brain. Steven never fully recovered from the stroke; he was, however, eventually able to move back into a home setting, with the assistance of Alyson, his wife, and a caregiver (Joseph Alexander, to whom the family is indebted). More recently, Steven had a series of health challenges that progressed swiftly. Steven passed away on July 14, 2023, in the company of Alyson and his beloved children, Hailey and Hugo.

Steven and his family so appreciate the help that he received from his friends and colleagues in the wake of November 2020. That original fundraising push helped provide Steven with the care that he needed to successfully rehabilitate and return to his family. As many of you know, Steven's children meant the world to him, and it was always his hope to provide for their future educational needs. That hope dimmed during the period of recovery post-stroke, as Steven was never able to return to work, and his personal financial resources were completely depleted to support his care. We are hoping that the same wonderful community of friends, clients and colleagues who supported Steven in 2020 will now step forward again to contribute to an educational fund for his children, no matter how great or how small the amount.  Please help the Kim family if you can, even if it's just to get the word out about this fundraiser; Hailey and Hugo's future education depends upon it, and Steven would no doubt be forever grateful for your continued support.

Alyson has planned a Celebration of Life for Steven on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the Jackson Street Pizza Lounge, 2901 S. Jackson St., Seattle, WA at 2 p.m. Steven's obituary will be published in the newspaper on Thursday, July 27, 2023. A copy of the obituary is included in the notes/updates for this fundraiser..
