Steven Thomas’ Final Farewell

Hi all, before we begin thank you for reading this go fund me page it means a lot to all of us.

As you all will know our dear friend Steven Thomas sadly passed away on the 25th June, he was not one to give up easily and he put up a fight even at the very end.

Steven was a friend to so many people up and down the country being part of the jazz band world brings people from all over the country together making them lifelong friends. Steven was a larger-than-life character, a joker, funny, caring, loyal and very talented when it came to jazz bands he would give most things a go to be fair.

Steven marched for many bands in South Wales, beginning with Avonaires, South Wales Connections, Leo’s Lions, Penarth Royal Supremes, Gurkhas, Southern Xls and most recently became a big supporter of Swansea East but unfortunately due to ill health was unable to march.

We as friends of both Steven and Dene would like to help to take some of the stress and cost of the funeral away from Dene.

Dene has cared for Steven for the past 10 years and his unconditional love for Steven was clear to see, spending hours taking him to hospital appointments, dialysis and anywhere Steven wanted to go. For the last 11 weeks he had to take time off from his job to be able to care for Steven, sleeping at the hospital with him to make sure he needed for nothing.

We would like to ask if people could help us make this easier for Dene so Steven can have the send off he truly deserves, Steven would give you his last penny, his last fag, not sure about his last pint though lol!, we are asking just for a token gesture as we are aware this is such a difficult time for everyone.
