Artist & Distiller Steven Soltis Cancer Fund

This is my uncle Steve's third bout with cancer. The first two were merely setbacks in a varied and interesting life. This current bout however, is a bit catastrophic as Uncle Steve now has a young daughter. Steve has lost the ability to earn a living. Fortunately, he hasn't lost his courage in spite of the rigors of chemo/radiation therapy and the loss of his beloved beard and the rest of his hair.

Currently, Steve is living on the kindness of others, as he has lost nearly all his material possessions. Thankfully, friends and family have pitched in to provide shelter, transportation, companionship, and support. Steve may be poor financially but he's rich in loving friends and family. People tend to be attracted to Steve and his up beat manner.

Let me give you a little background on my uncle. Steve is an artist of some prominence, particularly in New Orleans where he ran a gallery. He paints and sculpts even now, in spite of his pain.

Steve's first bout with cancer was some years ago and began as skin cancer on his leg. Years later, he successfully battled testicular cancer. About 2 years ago, Steve began feeling uncharacteristically fatigued. Painfully aware of his medical history, Uncle Steve began seeing a doctor. The normal testing was performed, and all seemed well, according to the doctor. Yet Steve did not feel quite right. He got a second opinion, and his concerns were confirmed. It was discovered that Steve had a large, cancerous tumor just above his kidney. The tumor was too large to remove via surgery. Steve would once again have to suffer through the brutal but necessary treatments.

What I'm asking for is any financial assistance you can give my uncle to help with his co pays and day to day living expenses. The poor guy even had to hand his beloved dog over to his older brother because Steve lacked the energy to care for him and the money to feed him.

My Uncle Steve has lost everything except hope. Please help!
