As most of you know, Steven Powers, Austin’s Field Service Technician, has been in and out of the office the last couple of months due to health concerns. What started as pneumonia turned into something much more involved and the doctors have determined that he has an abscess as well as a cavitary lesion on one of his lungs. He has been sent to a lung specialist so they can run additional testing. His primary doctor also thinks that he might have a skin condition and are in the process of running tests for that as well.
On top of all the his current ailments, Steven is type 1 diabetic. Any sickness that he encounters outside of his diabetes requires the doctors to go the most in-depth route of treatment. At this time, Steven is unsure on when he will be able to return to work as the doctors are taking precautions until they can better determine his condition.
Steven is from El Paso and does not have any family support here in the Austin area and has mentioned several times how that has been a bit scary for him during all of this. Steven also is not one to ask for help simply because he does not want to feel bothersome.
With all of that being said, the Holidays are approaching us and I want Steven to feel like his has a support system during this time and was hoping that we, his work family, could band together to offer that support (donations, food, etc.). Please donate what you can. A little goes a long way.
