Partner with My First Music EP

Hi! I’m Steven Nelson, and I am raising funds to create my first-ever original EP.

Singing and songwriting have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up in the church, my parents served on the worship team which helped inspire my own heart for music. But it was really in worshiping God and in sensing His nearness that drew my heart to singing and songwriting. The personal desire for deeper connection with God and the hope for other people to encounter Him has been the purpose behind my songs.

I picked up the guitar when I was in high school. I loved to come home from school and sing and seek God as I would play music. I started singing out my prayers and conversations with God, and overtime began writing songs from this place. My desire grew to be that if I was playing guitar, singing or just silent that I would be with Him.

Songwriting stems from a desire to express my heart and feelings to God and imagine what He might say to me or other people. The lyrics I’ve been writing over the past few years have come from a place of walking through pain, weakness and triumph with the desire to see God and His goodness.

My purpose in this is that God’s heart for restoration and relationship with us would be poured out in my songs, and that these songs could be used to help people come to the open arms of God.

Funding my single will help me to share those prayers and words with the world that they may come to know Him too. Music has always been part of me, and I hope this will become the stepping stone to be able to spend more time on this passion.
