Dear Family and Friends,

My husband, Steven Williams (known to many as Coach Williams), has been battling liver disease and cirrhosis for the last 3 years.  He has continued teaching as much as he can, and he truly misses coaching his players back in Texas.

We moved near Birmingham, AL last year to be closer to family because we knew our journey would eventually become more difficult. Little did we know that Steven’s condition would worsen within the first 6 months of being here.
As of today, March 7, 2021, he has been listed on the UNOS organ recipient list for a liver and kidney. Now we wait for the call to have the surgery.

His transplant team at UAB hospital has determined that he will stay in the hospital until the surgery happens.  We don’t know how long that will be, but we hope it won’t be too long. 

Steven’s health and recovery our the main priority, but I can’t help but wonder how we will manage the daunting cost of all the medical expenses. If you are able to give, we would appreciate any amount of help. Of course, your prayers are appreciated as well.
