Steven Lewis Heart Transplant Fundraiser
Donation protected
Steven Lewis is a dear family friend and best friend to our son since they played on the Roswell Hornets High School football team in the great city of Roswell, Georgia. He became a son to many families, having also lived in Texas and Tennessee. He was always very outgoing and gregarious, the picture of perfect health.
Almost 13 years ago, a virus attacked Steven’s heart, and ultimately, he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. After enduring a long, slow, downhill physical and sometimes mental battle, he continued his life dreams and was rewarded. He relocated to Charleston, SC, where he met his beautiful and talented wife, Arielle while battling this health problem. She was his nurse, and together they created the perfect family, having a son and daughter, both under the age of five.
During the Summer of 2022, Steven became very weak and started experiencing extreme pressure in his core. His heart finally wore out. He was hospitalized, began qualifying for a heart transplant, and was placed on the heart transplant register. He had to stay in the facility while weeks went by. He received a heart and successfully had his transplant surgery on 9/20/22. The family is immensely grateful for the donor and team of doctors and nurses - but Steven had some severe complications, including kidney dialysis. He is still in the hospital and had to undergo emergency surgery for an infection. His new heart continues to work well; however, his body is frail. He has lost a lot of weight and is in a great deal of pain.
Because so many of you have asked what you can do to help, our family has set up this fundraiser to help Steven and his family with the financial strain of the transplant, loss of income, and a long recovery ahead. Hopefully, this will help offset medical expenses, lost wages, living expenses, and more accumulating medical costs of lifelong drugs that are expected to be extremely high. Steven and his family are proud independent people, and, like many of us, struggle with asking anyone for help. We know if roles were reversed, Steven would, without a doubt, do the same for others.
We ask that you share this fundraising link on your social media pages and reach as many people as possible who know and love Steven. The Lewis family is overwhelmed and thankful for the countless prayers and love received during this time. If you have it in your heart, please donate to help out our precious friend, Steven Lewis.
