Hi everyone, Kayla here.
On Wednesday, October 20th, 2021 my dad, Steve Karaszewski, passed away in the morning. My mom, Ruth, has spent the last few days surrounded by my brother Adam and I, our spouses, and her grand baby Sophia. This time together has been healing and allowing us to take our time to process as we feel. Although his passing was sudden and we will all miss him so deeply, we are so grateful for the time we got to spend with him. He was an amazing dad and husband, and loved his brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts and uncles so very much. He always talked about his family and shared stories about everyone—especially his dad, Thaddeus, and Grandma V. I’ll miss him forever.
I’m cherishing the fact that he was able to celebrate 30 years of marriage to my mom, see me get married to my best friend, Erik, and watch my brother become a father to Sophia. These big life moments matter, but so do all of the little moments in between. We’ve all been flooded with memories of him the past few days and have been sharing our stories with each other about Dad while laughing, crying, cooking and eating all of his favorite foods in his honor; just being there for one another. It’s bittersweet to share these memories.
Here are some photos we’ve picked out to remember Dad by. Hope you all enjoy looking at them as much as we have.
At this time, there are no services planned.
We have set up a GoFundMe to help give my mom some security while working through this loss, as my Dad was the sole financial provider for them. If you would like to contribute, you can do so on this page. Thank you so much.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, or want to share a memory of my dad here. Thanks to everyone who has reached out in support, it means the world to us.
