Steven Fode Motorcycle Accident

Update: Steven is currently out of the hospital and is in a 24 hour physical therapy rehabilitation center. We are not sure how long he will be there as he is making progress, but progress is slow. He has so many injuries, from head to toe. Fractures, tears, bruises, etc. Due to his surgery, the cleaned out his internal bleeding, repairing of his intestines and his liver, he has 31 stiches on his stomach, which goes the length of his stomach. He is in pain constantly and will need continued prayers, thoughts and support to get through this difficult time. Steven needs assistance with all aspects of his life at the moment. He needs full assistance with getting around, hygiene needs, interpreting certain things (complex thinking), etc. My parents are still by his side as much as they can in California, however their expenses continue to grow the longer they remain in California and away from home and work. Steven will need caregivers if/when he is able to return to his home in CA. He will not be able to put weight on his leg for at least 6 months. Steven's physical therapy consists of trying to learn how to walk with his casts and injuries, how to move around with the least amount of pain. Steven had some damage to his head because of the injury and is having to do daily speech therapy to improve his cognitive thinking skills.
Here is a message from Steven:
"I want to thank everyone for your support during this difficult time. Most of all, I want to thank everyone for their thoughts, calls and prayers. This has been the hardest thing I have ever went through and probably will ever go through. Not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. It has been hard for me to depend on others and not being independent as I am used to. I am progressing, but it will take a lot of time because of the extent and amount of injuries I have. I am always in pain and the slightest move creates pain for my stomach, leg or other parts of my body. Again, I want to thank everyone for keeping me in your prayers and please continue to pray for my recovery. It is going to be a long and difficult road. I am working on getting my phone and social media back so I can thank you all personally. I am truly blessed to have you all as my loved ones."

Hello to friends, family and everyone,
In the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 30, 2021, my brother, Steven Fode was involved in a motorcycle accident and is currently in critical condition in ICU. It is still unknown the details of his accident, however he is currently in the hospital and being intubated due to his injuries. He sustained lacerations on his liver and has undergone surgeries to determine the extent of the damage to his liver. He had multiple fractures, one to his pelvis and several to his femur. His femur was fractured in multiple places in which he sustained a open and compound fracture. He has some internal bleeding and will undergo a procedure tomorrow, Friday December 3rd to clean out the bleeding that has internally been found.
Steven's road to recovery will be incredibly long and daunting, it will not be easy. He will need several procedures and surgeries over the next few weeks and months. As well as several months and even years of treatment, rehabilitation, and physical therapy. This will be for costs of his hospital stay (unable to detail the length at this time) and other medical expenses will need to be covered. Steven will be out of work during this time and will still have bills (rent, motorcycle payments, motorcycle insurance, etc.). His mobility will be significantly impacted and he will need a wheelchair and wheelchair access for quite awhile, if he is able to have a full recovery, it still can take years to get to that point. Steven's only form of transportation was his motorcycle, therefore he will need to purchase a new vehicle that has wheelchair access. Also, Steven has physical employment and will not be able to work for several months, at the least. And that is, if he is able to maintain his current employment due to his injuries and significant time off of work that is required and needed for his treatment.
Currently, my parents, Steven and Julie Fode are in California with him at the hospital. We do not have the additional funds to ensure a caretaker for Steven at this time. My parents do not have the ability to remain in California for an extended amount of time as they reside in New Mexico and still have jobs to come back to.
If you can assist in donating anything to help with the funds of recovery and employment for Steven, it would be truly appreciated. Anything helps and we are so grateful for donations and prayers for my brother.
