In August of 2017, Steven Dygon, 58, was diagnosed with a cancer called small cell carcinoma. For the past year, Steven has been undergoing chemotherapy which has helped with the reduction of the cancer. Although there has been signs of improvement, the cancer has overpowered the chemotherapy and this is the third time the treatment has had to be redesigned to try and eliminate the cancer.
Steven is continuing to receive chemotherapy regularly, with the hope of eliminating the cancer completely but ones body can only undergo so much chemo before it no longer has an effect on the cancer. Steven's doctor at the Florida Cancer Specialists introduced a new FDA approved treatment involving CBD oils. The recommended treatment is to be done along with chemotherapy and can assist with the reduction of the cancer in as little as 6 months to a year.
While receiving a stronger dose of chemotherapy, Steven's doctor has advised him to refrain from working, causing medical bills even more difficult to pay. Also, because the CBD oil treatment is so new, insurance will not approve coverage for at least another year causing all costs to be out of pocket.
Steven's doctor estimates him to be on this treatment plan for 1 year, which costs are estimated at around $900 a month which totals $10,800. Steven is hoping to start this treatment as soon as possible.
As a husband, father of four, son, brother and friend, we are turning to our friends and family for support. Whether it be a monetary gift or simply your positive thoughts and prayers, we truly appreciate any contributions during this time.
Thank You & God Bless You,
The Dygon Family
