As most of you know, the last few years have been quite rough for Steve. The day he was released from rehab (he has 647 days as of today, clean & sober) we were told he had cancer. That was a long battle, but thank God, he beat it. He then had surgery for reconstruction on his left shoulder (up to a year recovery) & the next month had surgery on his hand & he wound up in the hospital weeks later with an infection from said surgery. So far, he still has his finger, however, that could change within the next 4 to 6 months. Again, another long road & he cannot work for at least a year with rehab on his shoulder & now hand as well due to the infection. His disability hasn't kicked in & seems to be at a stalemate as the ss office is having difficulty with getting response from all the medical offices. We have experienced the same issue & is why he wound up in the hospital for so long, as the dr office dropped the ball & scheduled him to be seen way too far out for an infection. He has been unable to work & Bill's are piling up, including rent, insurance, phone etc. Fuel alone to get to appointments (4 days per week) is just impossible. Steve does NOT like asking for help, so I am doing it on his behalf. He's gone through so much & stayed so incredibly positive & stayed so strong in his faith & his commitment to his sobriety. Thank you for prayers & continued love & support for Steve. We so appreciate it.
