Steve Maitland's Medical Fund

Steve Maitland, a very kind and generous person, is in the hospital recovering from a severe motorcycle accident. It happened about a week ago as he was riding home from work; a route he has taken for over 25 years. A person in front of him braked suddenly and hard, and Steve's bike crashed into the rear of that SUV. He has been the trauma unit at Fairfax hospital, has had three surgeries already and two more scheduled for broken bones (he fractured over ten in the accident). He also suffered a severe concussion. The helmet he was wearing was cracked. He was just transferred to Virginia Hospital Center's rehab facility. He has a long road to recovery with so many challenges in terms of getting to be mobile and independent again.
