Dear friends and family of Steve and Robyn Bloem,
By now many of you will have heard that Steve took a really hard fall on Wednesday, December 4th, hitting his head, and needed to go to the ER. The specialized MRI showed a tumor on/near his pituitary. He will need to have surgery as soon as it can be arranged. They will not know whether the tumor is cancerous until they do a biopsy.
As a full-time ministry worker, Steve does not have insurance. As you can imagine, the medical expenses will be very high. Just the ER bills might exceed this initial goal. Robyn is working as quickly as possible to try and secure some kind of insurance that will allow them to schedule the surgery. The doctor pressed Robyn to try and secure insurance within the next two weeks...time is critical!
This first goal is a start and we'll adjust future goals as we go along.
For awhile Steve has been complaining about the vision in his right eye... thinking that maybe he had a cataract. Now we know that the tumor ispressing on his right optic nerve. The doctor believes that his loss of vision in that eye will be permanent. The sooner Steve can have surgery, the better chance he has of regaining some vision in his right eye. And our God is a God of miracles so please pray!
Steve and Robyn have blessed my life tremendously through their Heartfelt Counseling Ministry, serving and caring for those with mental illness. God has given Steve and Robyn a unique opportunity to provide support, understanding, and comfort because they are fellow-sufferers.
This is our opportunity to provide support and comfort to Steve and Robyn, at least in this small way, by meeting some serious financial needs.
Please share this with your friends...we never know who God might touch to donate. The smallest donation makes a difference. Thank you so much.
