Steve Tysick needs to bring his wife home
I am part of Canada Long Haulers. A member of our group needs to get back home to Ontario. This is Steve's Story;
Our Lives have taken a turn for the worst on March 2nd. I will find out the extent of my health, Colon Cancer. As many have read my story I am caring for my wife who was struck by this Covid monster.
I have tried to find financial assistance so I can take my wife home to Ontario and we no longer qualified for any programs.
Alberta government assistance has said they will pay me 15cents a km to go back to Ontario and expenses. Either way by April 10th we will leave Alberta and travel Home,
This is my story co starring my wife of 43 years.
March 2020 my wife gets severely ill after 4 weeks I get her to the doctor's, Dr. Confirms Flu like system. She is unable to work.

March 1st 2020 after 6 months I'm approved for my CPP disability under $900 a month.
My wife cannot work at this point and applies for unemployment sick benifets, and receives 15 week.
Still sick can't taste food, weakness, mobility issues. June 2020 my wife has lost alot of her mobility and her speech has skewed. I call my Family Doctor within 3 days he has test setup for her including a catscan.june 25th we are summoned to the hospital to meet with a stroke doctor. July 3rd while at a meeting with the stroke doctor we were informed my wife has had 7 Strokes and needs emergency surgery and asked if I could rush her to the ottawa Civic emergency Dept where a vasucular surgeon would be waiting to examine her and recommend a life saving procedure we agreed, I sat outside for 2 days to here she lived through the surgery.this was July 7th approximately.
August 1st because of plans to travel this summer we gave notice in April to vacate, I was forced to sell most of our personal belongings, I took my last saved money and purchased a trailer to move our most personal belongings into, I called and ask my Daughter if we can make the trip to Alberta and live in her basement till my wife and her mother can recuperate.
On April 6th 2021 I will be moving into my new home on a budget of under $900 a month, during the month of March I will start selling whatever I can to raise enough money so I can keep my wife safe and return back to Ontario.
The Government makes it to hard unless your a computer genius. I won't be homeless but my home will be hind me.
We will have a roof over our head and food in the fridge.
We will try to find a place to live next winter but worse case if I have no choice I will stay in my trailer.
When I got married 43 ago I promised my wife at our weeding through sickness and health, and until Death do us part.
As I travel through towns and cities I will ask permission to park and plug my trailer in so we can heat and eat.
Maybe before winter the Doctor's will admit we were affected earlier than they admit and with help us all through these times. Covid is killing millions and us the long haulers deserve more.
