Family & Friends,
Many of you have asked how you can HELP Dad & we finally have a way you can practically help out!
Thank you so much for loving us well over the past SIX months of Dad’s battle with Covid and the complications from it. As you know, after 174 days in the hospital— he was released last Saturday. However, being home brought about new challenges and revealed weakness that is still very much present from being bed-ridden for 132 days before starting therapy.
Dad has come SO far but still has a ways to go. After a fall at home Thursday (only needed stitches in foot and a sore back—we are SO very thankful it was not worse) we decided it is best for him to be in a skilled nursing facility where he can continue to get stronger while having physical, occupational, and speech therapy daily. They will be able to help with his tube feedings until he’s able to be back on solids and maintain the medications. Of course this is a huge bummer as he was beyond excited to live life outside of hospital facilities. But we all agreed it was the safest and best option for now.
SOO many of you have asked what you can do over the last six months to help us and Dad. Our biggest request has been PRAYER. Prayer is always our priority. Now, we need the body of Christ to support this season of the recovery journey financially. We know it is best to keep Dad (and he knows, too) in a skilled nursing facility to help him get stronger and stronger to be able to come home at his best. Dad has a very limited number of days left that insurance will cover. We are wanting to take the burden off of Dad and allow him not to worry about finances but to truly focus on the BEST care he can get during this time. Skilled nursing facilities are very expensive and we are requesting that if you feel lead— to donate so Dad can spend 2 months in this wonderful facility to get the full care he needs. Covid has taken so much from him and we want him to feel safe, cared for, and to be in an environment to get the help that he needs to do this.
This GoFundMe is set up in my name/account and every single penny will be given towards Dad’s care at the skilled nursing facility.
Thank you for being the body of Christ during this season. If you are not able to give financially— please keep those prayers coming! We love you guys and thank you from the bottom of our heart! Keep sending Dad positive messages, texts, emails, calls— they truly keep him positive and going!
