Commemorate Steve's Life on the Scarlet Brick Walk
Donation protected
Steve was a larger-than-life presence in so many communities; as a father, firefighter, friend, and as a Scarlet Knight.
Steve devoted 20 years to Rutgers as a part of Digital Classroom Services. His energy, generosity, and camaraderie were at the heart of so much we accomplished during that time. Rutgers and those that worked with him have been enriched by his presence here.
In addition to being a beloved co-worker, Steve was also an avid supporter and season-ticket holder of Rutgers football. He loved attending games and was a master tailgater, passions that he shared with his two sons.
As a way for Steve's Rutgers co-workers and friends to honor Steve and maintain his memory here, we thought it'd be fitting to purchase a memorial brick on the Scarlet Walk that leads to the statute commemorating the first college football and which fans use to enter SHI Stadium. Bricks are used to share messages of support for the team, spread Rutgers spirit, and remember fans who have left us.
There are several options for the Class of '56 Scarlet Brick Walk:
- 4"x8" paver, replica & case for his family ($383)
- 8"x8" paver ($800)
- 8"x8" paver, replica & case for his family ($980)
- 12"x12:" paver ($3,000)
Any paver would be engraved with a message honoring Steve. We'll purchase a paver based on how much money we've gathered by the end of the summer. If there is any extra money not used for a paver, it will be donated to Steve's families chosen charity, Camp Marcela.
Please contribute in whatever way you wish to and feel free to share this among Steve's friends at Rutgers.
