Steve Skrzypek's Journey to Recovery

Hi! We're Steve and Jenny Bergstrom, friends of the Skrzypeks and members of their church family.

On March 16, while learning to box for an upcoming fundraising event, Steve suffered a traumatic brain injury. He was admitted to the Critical Care unit at Stormont-Vail hospital. While there, Steve made the progress needed to be ready for the next part of his healing journey.

On April 3 Steve was transported to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Nebraska for more specialized neuro-rehabilitation. He will be there until he reaches the goals set up for him by his treatment team. Renae, Lauren and Caleb will be traveling back and forth from Topeka/KC to Madonna to support Steve. Renae will most likely stay there for the duration of Steve's care.

All donations will go toward the travel expenses (housing, gas, food) incurred by Renae and family as well as the expense of Steve's care once he comes home.

All of you know that Steve would be the first person in line to help anyone in need. We hope that, by reaching the donation goal, you'll help to get Steve the support he needs to get back on his feet (as well as on the pickleball court).
