In October 2018, our friend, colleague and single father Steve Saunders, was diagnosed with stage 4 Lymphoma Cancer which has unfortunately spread throughout his body.  Steve has recently undergone surgery and immediately began doing chemo.  Steve, the fighter that he is, has vowed to fight the cancer in order to live and continue spending time with his precious daughter Sienna and his parents who have been with him every step of the way. 

Steve has served as a Police Officer for over 33 years, beginning his service with Toronto Police then CP Police and now with the Metro Vancouver Transit Police since 2002. Steve was a competitive boxer in his former years, a golden gloves champ, but the last ten years has taken up fighting the currents of water instead on his sailing boat.

Steve's friends and family are reaching out to the community, our extended law enforcement family and anyone willing to support Steve during this battle with the horrible disease of Cancer.  This fight cannot be done alone and is having a tremendous impact on him, and of course his now 15 year old daughter who worries about her Daddy every day. 

The purpose of this fundraising endeavor is to collect money to help pay for expenses as Steve takes time off of his duties to undergo Chemo treatments, medication not covered by medical insurance and to help take the financial burden off Steve's shoulders while being a single father raising a wonderful teenage daughter.

For the people who know Steve, you would agree that he is kind, generous, a great sense of humour, and is most proud of his daughter Sienna.  For the people who don't know Steve, just imagine a single father who is raising a wonderful girl that has turned out to be a competitive ballet and contemporary dancer, and who loves her father and needs to have him around once he beats the heck out of this Cancer.
