Hello everyone, I'm Claudia Limon-Covian Im doing a go fund me for Steve Quijada Sr. On behalf of our 2 boys
Hello everyone, this is Andrew Quijada, Steve Quijada's son. It's with a sad and heavy heart that I say my father is on life support. Due to the current and prospective circumstances, my brother Steven and I have made the decision to let my father pass. Although we made the decision on Friday, we were informed that my father is an organ donor. This will delay the process a bit as they are currently running additional tests to ensure that his organs can save the lives of others in need. My father’s passing has come as a surprise to my family.
I have no idea what to say about him to tell everyone the kind of person he was, so I will keep this short. Everyone who knew Steve knew had had a big heart who loved to make people laugh. He loved to tell stories and hear about other people's lives. I know most of my friends will remember his time as the "lunch lady" at St. Mariannes. He worked the cafeteria while Steven and I attended to help pay the tuition. Some people might be embarassed but I loved that I was able to see him everyday while getting my food, he always put a smile on my face. His biggest passion was music, playing drums for most of his life until he couldn't, even playing in a band with his son Steven and his friends, playing school festivals and fairs. Him and my grandma took a lot of people in who needed a place to stay, both friends and family. We had a lot of people come and go in that house, leaving them with a lot of good memories of him.
Due to this sudden situation, we are not prepared for it at all. He had no plans for his death, funeral service, plots or anything. We're finding ourselves in a tight situation, he had no money and barely anything in his name. What he does have might get taken away due to all of the hospital bills. Now Steven and I are being sprung with all the funeral and service costs. It's all happening so fast that we're starting to worry about not being able to give him what he wanted. We just want to ask anyone that knew him for a small donation. Whatever you can afford to donate for him, we would appreciate so much. Donations will all go to his funeral costs and services.
Thank you all so much I've received nothing but love and support from everyone who crossed paths with him. He made an impact on a lot of peoples lives and those people also made an impact on him. He will hopefully pass knowing he made a difference in the world for the better.
