Hi family and friends. This is Angie, Steve and Onita”s eldest daughter. As some of you are aware, my father and mother both are battling severe diseases that will ultimately take their life.
Three years ago my father suffered a stroke and immediately there after began displaying signs of early onset Dementia. Then following, has had a series of mini strokes, that have dramatically affected his physical abilities and continues to deteriorate his mental capacity.
My mother, as the sole caregiver for my father, suddenly and without warning, fell quiet ill in January. In the days that followed, she had multiple medical appointments and extensive testing to be given a devastating diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
As my parents health continued to rapidly decline, we were forced to make the increasingly difficult decision to place my father a residential care home specializing in memory care.
It was at this time my mothers pain increased to unbearable.
As my mother prepared for chemo therapy treatment, preliminary testing resulted in her cancer having become metastatic within her internal organs. Her team of physicians recommend following through with chemo therapy. Unfortunately, the chemo therapy did not go well and she was hospitalized. Her weak and fragile body riddled with pain, nausea and the inability to eat or drink. To add to the health issues, my mothers catalytic converter was stolen out of her vehicle. The first day she was admitted into the hospital.
She’s currently in a nursing home and we’re hoping she can be released soon to be with family in the comfort of her own home.
Any contributions would be a blessing and any kind words and prayers for them would be appreciated. If you would like to visit either of them please message me. God bless.
update: Mom is now on hospice at Mike and Laura’s.
