I am a full time wheelchair user after a fall left me paralysed from the waist down. I’m T54 classified and I train at Coventry Godiva Harriers with Team GB Paralympics coach Job King. I’ve had the opportunity to take part in numerous road and track events mainly 10K, Half Marathon and Marathon distance both in the UK and internationally, including London and New York marathons.

In 2024 I will be taking part in the Tokyo, London and Chicago World Major marathons.

I'm currently using an old race chair frame belonging one of my team mates and using this chair has seen a huge time improvement for a Half Marathon time compared to the second hand frame that l had previously bought and used. However this chair is slightly too small and is really tight on my ribs causing rubbing; so the current trade off is better times over significant discomfort especially in longer distance races. Racing chairs are normally custom built to fit each person individually.

So I'm looking into getting a custom built made to measure race chair frame and need to secure funds from crowdfunding and grants in addition to personal contributions. Any additional funds will be put towards maintenance and ongoing costs (eg tyres, race gloves, event costs etc)

My aim in 2024 is to complete a 10K in under 30 minutes and a Half Marathon in under 60 minutes. For my age group (Masters, Aged 55+) I am currently ranked UK #1.
