I’m reaching out to everyone for help for my dad. Here is his story:
Steve Mehal is a musician. He is an incredible acoustic guitarist, singer and songwriter. He also owns his own business, Mehal Transport Services, Inc., where he drives his own truck and is an over-the-road driver pulling tanker and staying out away from his family for weeks at a time. He is a United States Coast Guard veteran, and is still an active member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Anyone who knows my dad knows that he is a kind, loving and generous person.
On November 22nd, 2021 my dad was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma, a cancer that affects his ability to swallow, sing, and lead a normal life. My dad will be going through chemotherapy and radiation for seven weeks, then at least four weeks of recovery.
During the medical treatment and recovery time, Steve will be unable to work. 11-12 weeks is a long time without his income. The medical treatments will also affect his vocal cords, so his singing voice will be affected. This news is heartbreaking, as my dad will lose the voice we all knew and loved to hear.
Steve would do anything to help a person in need, whether it’s someone he knows and loves or a complete stranger. He would never want to burden anyone with his own troubles or needs. That’s why I’m stepping in and asking that we do just as my dad would do for someone else, and help him as he tackles this fight. Anything you can donate will be truly appreciated. Please spread the word. We thank you so much for your help!
