Steve McAdams Medical Fund

Donation protected

The family of Conroe resident Steve McAdams is hoping to raise more than $5,000 to pay for medical expenses and supplies to keep him comfortable following a diagnosis of cancer.

During Thanksgiving, after several days in the hospital, Steve was released with nowhere to go. Homeless due to unfortunate circumstances, he found his way to a Conroe park where a simple photo on social media of him sleeping sparked an outpouring of support to get Steve help and reunited with his family.

Conroe businessman Joe Haliti, the owner of Joe’s Italian Restaurant, did what he does best and got Steve food and shelter while his family worked to get to Texas to get him back to Illinois where they could care for him. Nada McAdams Lunsford, Steve’s former wife who has been in touch with him and helping with this medical care, recently flew to Texas to take him back to her home where she is now caring for him.

According to his family, Steve was diagnosed with throat cancer that has metastasized to his head, lungs, pancreas and intestines. While he has no insurance and little money, Steve now has a feeding tube and is getting the medications he needs.

But the expenses are mounting.

Nada calls Steve a humble man with a good soul deserving of grace, compassion, love and support. She is hoping to spread the word and raise the funds to help continue his palliative care. Any size donation helps and Steve’s family is grateful for all who can give.
