After almost a year-long struggle, Steve Martin lost his battle with brain cancer on October 27, 2018 and is now free to go wherever his heart desires. While his journey was filled with many challenges and heartache, it was also filled with immense joy and gratitude because of the kindness of family, friends and great care given to him by many wonderful organizations. The Steve Martin Memorial Charity Fund is a tribute to Steve's commitment to helping others, his "larger than life" gift to spread love and laughter through music, and to his courage to fight the good fight for what he believed.
The mission of this memorial fund is to provide support to charities/non-profits who can impact the lives of others in the areas that meant the most to Steve throughout his life. We are in the process of carefully vetting a number of charities/non-profits to evaluate their alignment to the goals of Steve's memorial fund. One group we have decided to select is the Cabrillo Community College Stroke Center. Steve loved participating in classes at the stroke center and it gave him the opportunity to re-engage in learning, movement and to connect with others who were also affected by stroke and brain injury.
