Steve Martin and family Medical Fund

On Sunday, June 18th, Father’s Day, Steve woke up to a Stroke due to Intracranial Stenosis. He was called in to work 4 times that night, went home, slept for a couple of hours and got up to make coffee. When he tried to stand, his left side was affected, and he fell. He knew he was having a stroke and worked to get to his phone to call 911. He explained to them that Macee was asleep with the dog and where he was located. Dispatch let him know that EMS was on their way and hung up (I thought they were supposed to stay on the phone with the patient until they arrived). Steve was taken to St Pats in case he needed a Neuro or Heart Surgeon. After many different tests and scans, he was informed that the location was not able to be stented due to its location. He had no other complications and was moved from ICU to the Medical Unit on Monday and then admitted to CMC Inpatient Rehab on Wednesday. He continued to work hard in PT, OT, and Speech and was discharged home early July. He is regaining his strength and retraining his brain. Stretching, lifting weights, walking and pedalling are helping the left side regain movement. He is on the road to recovery but will not be able to return to work for some time. We hope to raise enough money to pay off our medical debt, purchase adaptive equipment, and help to create a financial bridge. We are struggling! Please consider donating and helping us.
