Steve Maki Rebuild After the Brimson Complex-Camp House Fire
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
Many of you have reached out asking how you can help my dad, Steve Maki. Sadly, on May 12th, Steve lost nearly everything in the Brimson Complex/Camp House Fire — a devastating wildfire that tore through his property and left behind widespread destruction.
Steve has lived in Brimson, Minnesota, his entire life. He's the third generation to live on the Maki Homestead. Known for being incredibly hardworking and independent, Steve is the kind of person who's always quick to lend a hand when someone else is in need. Now, he's the one who could use a helping hand.
The fire caused serious damage:
- His main home needs repairs, including a few new windows and a door replacement.
- Several garages, outbuildings, and vehicles were completely lost.
- Electricity must be fully reconnected.
- The rebuilding process will take time, resources, and support.
Although insurance is covering some of the damage, the extent of the destruction makes it clear that Steve is underinsured. The out-of-pocket expenses, including deductibles, structural repairs, and utility restoration, are substantial.
We’re raising funds to help Steve:
- Cover insurance deductibles for damaged structures and vehicles
- Repair and restore his home
- Reconnect power and replace essential infrastructure
- Rebuild the property and regain stability
Thank you for your kindness, support, and for standing with our family during this time.
