STEVE LUNDQUIST “LUNK” MEMORIAL GIVING FUND
We lost Steve on December 14th, 2024, after suffering a brain aneurysm at OSF Hospital in Rockford, IL. He leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Karen, and his 26-year-old son, Tyler. They will have medical expenses after Steve’s week-long battle in the hospital. Karen is experiencing and anticipating additional financial needs in her time of loss. Your donation goes directly to Karen to help pay for these expenses.
Although Steve was in extreme pain for the last six months of his life, he kept most of his medical details private. He didn’t want to burden friends or have anyone feel sorry for him. He is now with his Lord and Savior and had no fear of death. We know he is now at peace.
Steve was the kind of guy that never met a stranger. His Christian faith was evident and guided his life. He was funny, smart, and a fierce competitor in any sport he played. He was honored to be named an “All Conference” HS football player; inducted into the “Athletic Hall of Fame” at Rock Valley College after an undefeated football season; and contributed as a goalkeeper of Trinity College’s National Championship Soccer Team. Steve was also an avid Chicago Bears fan even though they haven’t won a Super Bowl since ’85!
As much as Steve was a tough athlete, he was also a singer, songwriter, author and poet. He found a calling entertaining children and families as “Mr. Steve” for over 30 years. Steve loved to fish and spend time with family and friends.
Thank you for your gift which will help at this crucial time. Karen is truly grateful for your kindness and generosity.
