Steve Gabrielsen Memorial

Hi, This is David and Kim, Steve Gabrielsen's parents. Our son tragically took his life on Monday, February 27, 2023. Steve was 30 years old. From the beginning, right up to the end of his life, Steve loved his family and outdoor adventures, especially those associated with guns and or campfires. Steve enlisted in the US Army after high school and served our family and country with the Bravo Company 2d Battalion 19th Infantry Regiment "Brave and Bold" in Afghanistan in 2012. After completing his term of service, Steve moved to Fairbanks Alaska to marry the love of his life, Tracy. Steve graduated in 2018 from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks with a BS degree in Mining Engineering and worked as a mining engineer. Steve served in the Alaska National Guard, 297 Infantry Battalion Company B Rifle Comp. until his death. Our family had lots of wonderful adventures with Steve that we are going to miss. Steve left behind his wife Tracy and two children, Alexis and Thorin. As a family, we have already had a massive outpouring of love and support and we know there will be others who want to express their love with a gift, so that's primarily why we set this up. Beyond obvious future needs for Tracy and the kids, we've not had time to process much else other than we now know that Steve suffered from depression much more than he let on. What the Lord has in front of us with this, we do not know, but we are now on a different path than we anticipated and know that He leads us onward. Only He can and will use this horrific tragedy for His good and glory.
