Steve Franchetti Memorial Fund

As most of you know by now, our beloved Steve Franchetti passed away on May 25th, 2022 after a 5-month long battle with Grade 4 Glioblastoma (Brain Cancer). The Franchetti family truly appreciates all of the love and support you have provided to their family during this difficult time. We know everyone is wondering how else they can help, which is why we are creating this fundraiser for the Franchetti family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Steve’s honor.

 

As some of you know, while he was a mid-20s graduate student living in the Los Angeles area, Steve participated in the Big Brother/Little Brother program. At an age when he could have been focused on his social life and career development, he took the time to support this wonderful program. Over the decades that followed, he and his “little brother” Cameron stayed connected and celebrated many of life’s milestones together.

 

This is one of the earliest and most significant examples of Steve’s heart, ethics, and dedication to others. However, he carried forward this giving spirit throughout his life in ways big and small in his interactions with his fellow humans. Indeed, many of you have experienced Steve’s subtler demonstrations of compassion through thought-provoking questions about life, offers to help, and a quick “yes!” to donation requests. At base, he truly believed in others’ abilities and encouraged them to follow their dreams.

 

While the Franchetti family may use some of the funds for immediate expenses, their ultimate goal is to honor Steve’s memory and his giving spirit by using the amounts raised to create a memorial fund in his name to help and support others in their quest for educational or professional growth. Steve would want his memory to remain alive in the spirit of helping others.
