This GoFundMe is to raise money for Steve Danger's (Painter's) medical expenses.
On Sunday, April 11th, Steve Painter started feeling sick due to an unexplained illness. On Tuesday, April 13th, it turned into a critical moment as he was rushed to the ER due to the ongoing medical emergency. On Thursday, April 15th, as doctors were not for certain on the actual diagnosis, they began to treat Painter with various medications to treat a tick bite. On Friday, April 16th, his illness took a turn for the worse as Painter was moved to the ICU under sedation and on a ventilator. Doctors began performing many tests hoping to diagnose Painter, but were unsuccessful. On Saturday, April 17th, doctors added CTTR dialysis to help with Painter's kidneys.
On Wednesday, April 21st, after spending 21 days in the hospital, doctors were able to diagnose Painter with Ehrlichiosis, a type of bacterial infection spread through tick bites. After the confirmed diagnosis, doctors were able to remove all but one of the medications to treat it. His heart began to get stronger, and his kidneys began to start functioning better though he was still on a breathing machine in the ICU.
On Tuesday, April 27th, Painter was able to be relocated from the ICU to Acute Care. Doctors put a trach in his throat for the ventilator and a peg in his stomach to feed him. On May 1st, he was moved off of the ventilator and was only on oxygen. On May 6th, he was able to sit up for 15 minutes and do a few exercises in bed.
While he is getting better each day, Painter has a very long road to recovery. The funds raised through this GoFundMe will help him and his family with medical expenses through this trying time. Any amount will help them and will be very much appreciated.
