Steve Crosariol
Steve is the loving husband to Amy for last 10 years and Father to two beautiful
sons Sidney age 5 and Lennon age 3. He is a son, brother, and uncle to wonderful, loving family.
Steve’s passions include playing guitar, being outside and most importantly,
spending time with his boys. He is a super papa to his sons, doing anything from
playing legos, reading books and having “battle-fights” aka wrestling matches
with the boys. Steve was a wrestler in high school, and would love to introduce
his boys to the sport, and who knows maybe coach in the future?!
On 8/28/2020, Steve received a diagnosis of stage 4, pancreatic cancer.
Specifically, the liver biopsy showed a neuroendocrine tumor. He originally had
pain in his upper left abdomen. He went to doctor within a week of the pain.
While ruling things out, they discovered lesions on his liver and pancreas.
CT scan showed cancer in the tail of his pancreas and many tumors throughout
his liver. The PET scan did not reveal cancer in other organs, so we are thankful
for that.
After the initial diagnosis, Steve saw an Oncologist in Portland and another at
OHSU. However, they felt compelled to get a third opinion and are so grateful for
Mayo clinic.
Mid December, they packed up their family and home in Portland, OR and moved to Stillwater, MN where they can be closer to Steve's family and
Rochester Mayo Clinic. Steve had surgery 12/18/20 which involved removing the primary tumor in the tail of the pancreas, removing the spleen and
gall bladder, and removal of the lymph nodes near pancreas and spleen. He was kept inpatient for 5 days and discharged just in time for Christmas!
Steve's second surgery date has been set for March 5th, 2021 which will involve removal of 75% of his liver. He will be kept at Mayo Clinic 5 days
after surgery for recovery.
Amy and Steve appreciate all the love and support from friends near and far.
